What this policy covers

This policy covers the Kelvy mobile app for iOS, iPadOS, and Android, along with this website. Kelvy does not currently ask you to create a Kelvy account or enter your name or email address in the app.

Camera and saved readings

Kelvy uses camera access to measure the scene and calculate white-balance guidance on your device. Live frames and captured photos are not sent to Mixpanel or RevenueCat.

When you take a photo, Kelvy uses it to show a capture review. A photo and its reading details remain in Kelvy's private app storage only when you choose to save the reading. On Android, a temporary capture file is removed if you discard the review. You can delete one, several, or all saved readings in the app.

Sharing is optional and starts only when you use a share action. The app then gives the selected photo to the destination you choose, whose privacy practices apply after it is shared.

Optional capture location

If you grant location permission, Kelvy may request a one-time foreground location when you take a photo and store its coordinates with that saved reading. If you decline permission or a location is unavailable, the capture continues without coordinates. Kelvy does not use location for background tracking.

Kelvy may ask the device's Apple or Google-provided location or geocoding service for a readable place name. Those platform services may process the request under their own privacy terms. Kelvy does not add coordinates to its Mixpanel events.

Product analytics through Mixpanel

When analytics is enabled in a release build, Kelvy uses Mixpanel to understand whether the app works and which features are used. Events can include app opens, screen views, onboarding, meter and capture actions, saved/shared/deleted readings, camera-profile changes, paywall and purchase actions, restore attempts, review prompts, and handled errors.

This is pseudonymous usage data. Event details can include values such as a Kelvin reading, a camera-profile or product identifier, item counts, and an error category. Mixpanel's software may also attach device, operating-system, app, and SDK identifiers. Its servers may derive an approximate city, region, or country from the request IP address. This is not Kelvy's optional capture location. Kelvy does not include your photos or capture coordinates in these events.

Current versions of Kelvy do not use Mixpanel Session Replay and do not use Mixpanel to record your screen, taps as a video, microphone audio, or typed text.

Subscriptions through RevenueCat

Kelvy uses RevenueCat to load subscription offerings, start and restore purchases, and determine whether Kelvy Pro is active. RevenueCat receives an automatically generated anonymous app user identifier plus subscription-related information such as product, offering, purchase, restore, and entitlement status. Its standard technical and transaction records can also include device type, operating system, the last time the app contacted RevenueCat, an Apple receipt or Google purchase token, and the Mixpanel identifier Kelvy supplies as attribution metadata. Apple or Google processes payment and store transactions; Kelvy does not receive your payment-card number.

On iOS and Android, Kelvy also uses RevenueCat's anonymous app user identifier as the Mixpanel distinct identifier. This lets subscription and product-usage events be associated with the same app installation without creating a Kelvy account. The identifier is pseudonymous; it should not be treated as fully anonymous.

Website hosting and analytics

The Kelvy website does not currently include a Kelvy account or contact form. Its hosting infrastructure may process standard request information such as IP address, browser and device type, requested page, and request time to deliver and protect the site.

Every page also uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-E7F46B0YYB) to understand traffic and engagement. Google Analytics can measure page views, scrolls, outbound link clicks, referring pages, browser and device information, and approximate location derived from an IP address. It does not receive Kelvy camera frames, saved readings, capture coordinates, app analytics, or app subscription information.

Google processes this information under its own Privacy Policy. Browser privacy settings and content-blocking tools can limit or prevent Google Analytics from loading.

Every page of this website includes the Meta Pixel (Pixel ID 2074072569859650). When a page loads, the Pixel sends a PageView event to Meta. That event and its network request can include the page and referring page, request time, IP address, browser and device information, and cookies or similar identifiers that Meta reads or sets. The current Pixel implementation does not send Kelvy camera frames, saved readings, capture coordinates, app analytics, or app subscription information.

Kelvy uses the Pixel to measure website visits and the effectiveness of promotions and advertising. Meta processes the information it receives under its own Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, including for measurement, analytics, and advertising. Meta may associate website activity with a Meta account depending on the information available to it, your settings, and applicable law.

If you have a Meta account, you can review or disconnect activity in Your activity off Meta technologies and adjust Ad preferences. You can also use browser privacy settings or content-blocking tools to limit Meta cookies or prevent the Pixel from loading.

Retention and your choices

• Camera and location: You can change these permissions in your device settings. Without camera access, Kelvy cannot take a reading; location is optional.
• Saved readings: Photos and reading details stay in app storage until you delete them or remove the app, subject to your device and backup behavior.
• Subscriptions: Manage or cancel Kelvy Pro in the Apple App Store or Google Play account where you subscribed.
• Website measurement: Google's and Meta's controls and your browser's privacy, cookie, or content-blocking settings can be used to review or limit this activity. Kelvy does not currently offer a separate on-site tracking preference. Limiting these analytics does not prevent you from using the Kelvy website.
• Service records: Mixpanel, RevenueCat, Google, and Meta keep data under their service settings and policies. For a privacy question or request concerning records controlled by Kelvy, contact Kelvy; we may need an app, transaction, or technical identifier to locate them. Requests concerning information controlled by Google or Meta can also be made through their privacy tools.
